A Novel Review of The Outsiders
                                                                                                            by Steven Yang
In S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, Hinton describes an ordinary school in United States where fighting and bullying always happens. The school is divided into two different groups which are the Greasers and the Socs. Since the Socs are from the west part of the region which are richer than the other group. Basically, the Socs doesn't like the Greasers and often argue with them. Interestingly, most of the Greasers are live in an incomplete family environment which might be a reason that they are all friends. However, even though the Greasers doesn't seem powerful; they stick together and help each other where there is trouble. For example, Johnny killed Bob, a member in the Socs, when he is bullying the protagonist Ponyboy accidentally.  Nevertheless, some people behaves graciously in such a turbulent school. For instance, Ponyboy and Johnny saved little kids in the Old Church and leave them selves in danger. So, Love and cares are the real theme of this novel. In conclusion, the novel is interesting and impressive with an effective ending.
